The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has extended the Los Angeles County Eviction Moratorium through June 30, 2020. The ban extends to residential and commercial tenancies. Tenants must notify landlords, in writing, within seven days of rent being due that they are unable to pay rent due to a COVID-19 related reason.

The County ordinance applies to unincorporated parts of Los Angeles County along with any city that does not have an eviction moratorium.

Information from the County of Los Angeles explaining its eviction moratorium can be found here “About L.A. County’s Temporary Eviction Moratorium and Rent Freeze.”

I have written previously about the County’s Ordinance here “Los Angeles County Imposes Rent Freeze and Eviction Moratorium in Response to COVID-19.”
